Who Said Vengeance Will Be Mine?
Hopefully today’s article will show you that nobody is fighting for their faith. Nobody truly believes the words they claim to follow religiously.
Many years ago, I entered a healthy debate with a friend about The Bible. Now, I know some of you are going to get very upset, but I urge you to remember that everybody is entitled to their opinion. Just listen to what I have to say first, and then tell me why we were wrong.
It was my friend’s opinion, that The Bible was rewritten so many times in order to keep the sheep in the one field. It was his thinking that once upon a time we had simple rules to follow and that as long as we didn’t question those rules, we would always be under the control of The State. At first it was very simple. Men went to work, women stayed at home and everybody had 2.4 children. However, because we as humans are a naturally progressive race, women wanted to wear trousers and go to work. So after a huge furor, women won the right to vote. They also won the right to be more independent. That was a very good thing but, as people started to learn, to develop, to grow, we also became more aware and inevitably started to question our lords and masters.
The Church and State realized that they were losing their control over the masses, and so The Bible was rewritten once again. We saw the introduction of ‘new’ religions popping up such as The Church of The Latter Days Saints in 1830.
Anyway, what my friend said was that once people started to question the teachings of The Bible, those in command realized they were losing the masses once again. An example of this was the ‘recent’ announcement by The Church that Adam and Eve and The Garden of Eden were made up. How can it be made up if it’s in The Bible?
So they gathered up the stray sheep once again. Can you guess what they used this time, to bring us back under Government control? that’s right – Terrorism.
I do not know if my friend is right, but he knows his stuff and so, let’s imagine that it is true.
‘If we examine the oldest known Bible to date, the “Sinai Bible” housed in the British Museum, we find a staggering 14,800 differences from today’s Bible and yet it remains the word of God? The history of our ‘genuine’ Bibles is a convoluted one. Firstly we cannot be sure that we have the full version as it was originally intended. In 1415 the Church of Rome took an extraordinary step to destroy all knowledge of two second century Jewish books that it said contained the true name of Jesus Christ. The Antipope Benedict XIII firstly singled out for condemnation a secret Latin treatise called “Mar Yesu” and then issued instructions to destroy all copies of the book of Elxai. The Rabbinic fraternity once held the destroyed manuscripts with great reverence for they were comprehensive original records reporting the life of Rabbi Jesus.’
When I was in school, one of my chosen subjects was religion. I spent many years studying western religion and it was only in my final year in education that they threw in ‘all other business’. I hated that. All those years being ‘trained’ to believe only one side of the argument? After I left high school, I made it my mission to study all other religions. I studied Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism, Judaism, Muslim and I even looked into Mormonism. Now, it’s important that you know, I didn’t do this because I was looking for ‘faith’. No, I did this because I wanted to know what my tutors and the education bodies were trying to hide. Why was it so important not to give an equal amount of learning time to other religions? Surely, if the west were so secure that they were the right religion, it would have proven their point by showing us what the ‘kooks’ were doing? I especially take unbrage with those followers of a particular faith destroying the very thing that would prove them right. Why would they do that?
Well, perhaps the answer is in the learning. The question posed in the title is who said vengeance is mine?
The Christians and the Catholics say that it was God, right?:
‘Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
But hang on a minute, what is this?:
‘You who believe! retaliation is prescribed for you in the case of people killed: free man for free man, slave for slave, female for female. But if someone is absolved by his brother, blood-money should be claimed with correctness and paid with good will. That is an easement and a mercy from your Lord. Anyone who goes beyond the limits after this will receive a painful punishment. (Surat Al-Baqara, 178)’
Surely if anyone believed this, they would leave it to God/Allah? Why does man (who was made in God’s image) feel that their Lord is incapable of bestowing punishment on wrong-doers?
Let me show you some other things. Remember that there is a belief that the Bible has been rewritten many times and answer me this:
vengeance is mine.
vengeance is ours.
If Allah will punish the heathen and the wrong doers, then why would the Qur’an say vengeance is OURS? If this is right, then why do the west punish people who follow their own beliefs when God said vengeance is MINE?
We know that the Qur’an was written in 609C.E and the Bible was written (the first time) in 50B.C.E. So clearly the Bible pre-dates the Qur’an, but that doesn’t mean it was word perfect. It took many hundreds of years for the Bible to be put together by 40 people.
‘ Muslim and non-Muslim scholars disagree on whether Muhammad compiled the Qur’an during his lifetime or if this task began with the first caliph Abu Bakr (632-634). Once the Qur’an was compiled, due to the unanimity of the sources, Muslims agree that the Qur’an we see today was canonized by Uthman (653-656). Upon the canonization, Uthman ordered the burning of all personal copies of the Qur’an. The copy of the Qur’an kept with Muhammad’s wife Hafsa was accepted. Until then, several copies of the Qur’an were available in different regions of Arabia with some grammatical errors, so Uthman’s order allowed only one version of the Qur’an to exist to prevent any misinterpretation of Qur’anic text or word of God (Allah).’ Wikipedia
So, both books have been re-written. Both books were destroyed (except for one) and both books have amazing similarities. Are we so sure that we are not following the same writings, in the same book? After all a rose by any other name…
The Koran and the Bible.
“There is no God but Allah. And Mohammed is his Prophet.”
“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.” Isa 45,22;

Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He (the envoy of the father), you will die in your sins.
Koran: 3rd sura, 119:
O believers! Make no friendship with those who do not belong to your religion. They will not cease from trying to seduce you and seek only your ruin. They have already uttered their hate with their lips; but worse things still are concealed in their breast.
Bible: 2. Timothy: 3,1-5:
3,1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 3,2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3,3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 3,4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 3,5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these!
Koran: 5th sura 52:
O believers, do not take either Jews or Christians to be your friends, for they can only be the friends of each other (mutually). One of you who takes them to be his friend, he is one of them. An unjust people will not be led by Allah.
Bible: 2 Corinthians 6,14:
Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
Koran: 39th sura, 60:
– and have comported yourself arrogantly, and have been an unbeliever.
Bible: 1 Thessalonians 1,9:
For they themselves report (…) how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God.

Hell fire shall be reserved for the unbelievers, in which they shall remain for ever.
Bible: Revelation 21,8:
But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

But he who does not obey Allah and the Prophet he has sent, for him hell fire is reserved, and he shall remain for ever therein.
Bible: John 3,36:
He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
Koran: 74th sura, 32:
And only angels have we set above the fire of hell – that the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) may be convinced of the truth of this book. So Allah leaves in error whom he will, and leads on the right path whom he will. The hosts of your Lord are known to him alone, and this doctrine (the doctrine of hell) is only a warning for men.
Bible: 2 Corinthians 4,3-4:
4,3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4,4 in whose case the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
So, looking at the bigger picture. Both books say the same thing and we are killing each other because of it. How does that tie in with the actual message of both God and Allah?
‘Mas’ud said: “I heard the Prophet narrating the account of one of the Prophets of Allah who was assaulted and wounded by his people; while wiping the blood from the face, he prayed: ‘0 Allah! Forgive my people because
they do not know what they are doing’.
Jesus’ words “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing” are found in Luke 23:34. Jesus looked down from the cross upon the scene that was most distressing to Him. The Roman soldiers were casting lots for His clothing (John 19:23–24); the criminals on the crosses to either side of Him were reviling Him (Matthew 27:44); the religious leaders were mocking Him (Matthew 27:41–43); and the crowd was blaspheming Him (Matthew 27:39). Jesus looked down upon this most unworthy lot and said, “Father, forgive them.”
In my most humble opinion, it seems to me that the devil hides in plain sight:
2 Corinthians 11:12-15
‘May God the Holy Spirit clear from your thoughts all that detracts from His Word, and from your lives all that draws your hearts from that one thing needful. Amen.’
‘He said: “Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:
“Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies).”
(Allah) said: “Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.’
—Quran sura 7 (Al-Aʻraf), ayah 14-18
One last thing. I know there are people who will talk about be-headings and stoning etc, and to them I ask who is without sin?
‘Deuteronomy 18:10–12 states “No one shall be found among you who makes a son or daughter pass through fire, who practices divination, or is a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer, or one that casts spells, or who consults ghosts or spirits, or who seeks oracles from the dead. For whoever does these things is abhorrent to the Lord;” and Exodus 22:18 prescribes “thou shalt not suffer a witch to live”; tales like that of 1 Samuel 28, reporting how Saul “hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land” suggest that in practice sorcery could at least lead to exile.’
‘The Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition (Spanish: Tribunal del Santo Oficio de la Inquisición), commonly known as the Spanish Inquisition (Inquisición española), was established in 1478 by Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile. It was intended to maintain Catholic orthodoxy in their kingdoms and to replace the Medieval Inquisition, which was under Papal control. It became the most substantive of the three different manifestations of the wider Christian Inquisition along with the Roman Inquisition and Portuguese Inquisition.’
‘do unto others’ my friends. Do unto others.
